Vishal Batra talks about his brother Vikram Batra and tells the story of his life.
Young Wickram Batra is playing cricket when he argues over a ball with an older teenager, showing off the courageous nature for which he would later become famous. The television series Param Vir Chakra encourages him to join the Indian army. This montage shows his patriotism and desire to join the army as an adult. At the age of 23, he was assigned to the Delta Company, 13th Battalion, Jamo and Kashmir Rifles (13 JAK RIF) and made a lieutenant in Supour. She has close relationships with her men and locals and is involved in counterinsurgency operations. In one of these operations, Colonel Sanjeev disobeyed Jimmy, but thwarted the perpetrators and saved Jimmy’s life. Jimmy blames his method, but later approaches it.
Batra returns to base and receives a letter from his friend Dimple Chima. The film dates back to 1995 when Patra and Dimple started dating. They decide to get married, but Dumbbell’s father refuses to accept Patra because they belong to different groups. To the satisfaction of his father, Batra decides to give up his dream of military service and join the merchant navy with a higher salary. However, his friend Sonny persuades him not to give up his dream. That’s why Batra and Dumbbell are fighting for their future.
Delta has now arrested a member of the insurgent group. In response, the leader of the Haider Delta was ambushed by deceiving information about the weapons depot. One of Patras’ friends, Deputy Chief of Staff Pansy Lal, was among those killed. Shocked and vengeful, Haidar takes command and asks the unit’s commander, Lt. Col. Yogesh Kumar Joshi, for permission to perform the operation. Delta led by Petra attacks the house of Hydras and kills him. Then he prepares for his vacation, because the Cargill War is unconsciously approaching.
In May 1999, General Pervez Musharraf launched an offensive to conquer Kashmir in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and dispatched troops to occupy the Cargill Peaks, in violation of the Geneva Conventions and the Shimla Accord. After hearing the news of the possibility of war, Batra decides to shorten his vacation and return. He made Sonny his famous promise: “Either I will return after the Indian flag is hoisted or I will return fully dressed. But I am sure.”
The unit was transferred to the base of the Al-Ghamri Army as a reserve force along with other regiments for adaptation and preparation. The base is bombed with artillery causing heavy casualties, including Major General Patras, Ajay Singh Jasrutia. Three weeks after the battle, 13 JAK RIFs were tasked with weakening 2 RAJ RIF rifles and retaking 5,140 points at an altitude of 17,000 feet. Batra’s code name “Shersha” and the victory sign “Ye Del Mang Moore” are dedicated to radio communications. Jimmy and Batra led their companies and retook 5140 with 51 casualties and were admired by the military and the public. Batra was promoted to captain and nominated for the Maha Veer Chakra.
After their dramatic victory, the 13th Army Command ordered the JAK RIF to capture Point 4875 overlooking National Highway 1 and metaphorically end the war. The next day they launched an attack on point 4875, but inflicted heavy losses in rough terrain and numerous enemy fortresses. Eventually they demolished the four shelters they knew existed. They know nothing about the fifth camouflaged shelter and are under heavy fire. Patra orders Yashpal to deploy a Pakistani RPG-7 missile in the bunker. But the sniper hits him before he can shoot. Patra runs to save him from the ground and succeeds, but she is hit multiple times by a sniper and an AK-47. As he falls, Subedar watches as Raghunat Singh takes command and takes the final refuge. He surrenders as the men hoist the Indian flag to victory. He received the Param Vir Chakra for his deeds at item 4875 after his death.
The ending shows his funeral in Palampur and Dumbbell is breathtaking.
